Video footage shows PPP’s close links with Uzair Baloch

KARACHI: Though the top leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been denying its links with Uzair Jan Baloch, a video footage received by Geo News shows PPP lawmakers from Lyari hands in gloves with the notorious figure from the restive neighborhood of Karachi.

Not only did Faryal Talpur, sister of former president of Pakistan and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, meet with Uzair Baloch, she was also presented with a gift of Holy Quran by the head of defunct People’s Aman Committee.

Host of Geo News programme "Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath" says Sindh Chief Minister Qami Ali Shah visited Uzair Baloch along with other PPP leaders including Shehla Raza shortly after taking oath of his portfolio after the 2013 election.

Video clips shows PPP lawmakers from Lyari taking oath of allegiance to Uzair Baloch, vowing that they would remain loyal to him and defect to any other party if he decides so.

Those lawmakers include MPA Sania Naz, Javed Nagori and others. PPP Senator Yousuf Baloch was also addressing the same rally where lawmakers were taking oath of loyalty on the Holy Quran.

It emerged that all the meetings happened between 2012 and 2013 during which PPP’s Sindh government withdrew head money on Uzair Baloch.

PPP leader Saeed Ghani in the show reiterated that his party has no connection with Uzair Baloch, who he claimed was the blue-eyed-boy of former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza.

Later, he left a message on twitter saying, "MQM, PTI, ANP, PMLN, Ayaz Palijo, Sattar Edhi and many visited Uzair Baloch in different times even those who r busy in khi operation".
