Wasim Akram pardons man who fired at his car
KARACHI: Cricket legend Wasim Akram's manager, Arsalan Haider, said on Sunday that Major (retd) Amir Rehman, the man who fired at Akram's car, has tendered an unconditional apology.

Haider went on to say that the former fast bowler has accepted the apology with two conditions; demanding cancellation of arms as well as driving licenses of Rehman.

Sources said the issue has been settled between both the parties as authorities concerned have released a letter, cancelling Rehman's arms license.

Akram was fired upon in Karsaz area of Karachi, in what police described as an incident fuelled by ‘road rage’ on August 5.

In his written apology, Rehman said the incident was a result of a misunderstanding as he could not even think of fighting with Akram, who is "our national hero and pride."

Talking exclusively to Geo News, the former cricket captain said he accepts the apology as he believes in "forgive and forget."

"Pakistan is my country where I do not move around with security, I do not want to live anywhere other than Pakistan," he said.
