KARACHI: The 67th death anniversary Pakistan's founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed with due solemnity and reverence today (Friday).

The 67th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was observed in Karachi with due sobriety and the national flag flew half mast in all main buildings.

Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali visited his mausoleum offered fateha and laid floral wreaths.

Accompanied by provincial minister for local bodies and Karachi commissioner they also paid glowing tributes to the Father of Nation in their remarks registered in visitors book.

The Governor and the Chief Minister were of unanimous opinion that unity was needed all the more by Pakistanis to address the present day challenges faced by the country.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's golden principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline are critically relevant today they said.

Representatives of the three armed forces also laid wreaths on the mazar and offered fateha. Guards of the mazar along with general public recited Holy Quran during a Quran khawani session specially arranged on mazar premises.

Different educational institutions had also arranged special sessions to mark the day with students reminiscing different aspects of Quaid's life personality and struggle.

The Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on December 25, 1876 at Wazir Mansion Karachi.

Though he lived slightly over a year after the creation of Pakistan, the Quaid wanted to see his country become a role model for other nations - free from corruption, nepotism and hypocrisy.
