Even Zardari was better than you Nawaz Sharif: Imran Khan

OKARA/LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that his party will win in NA-122 Lahore on October 11 and will also give the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) a tough competition in NA-144 Okara.

While addressing a rally in Okara this evening and once again targeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his ruling party with harsh criticism, Khan said, “I say this today Nawaz Sharif, you are the most corrupt person in Pakistan, even Asif Ali Zardari was better than you, I never thought I would say this.”

Talking about the upcoming bye-elections, the chairman said that the umpires belong to the PML-N, the police belongs to them, the polling staff belongs to them, and the Punjab Election Commissioner belongs to them, but even then PTI will come out victorious.

Khan went on to say that after PM Sharif felt afraid of the Hafizabad rally, he announced the Kisan Package (package for farmers), adding that out of 14 points, nine had already been announced earlier.

“Kisan Package was announced only to influence the Local Government Elections.”

Further censuring the PM and his ruling government, the PTI chief said that General Sales Tax (GST) has been increased while the ruling party itself is involved in money laundering.

“The cost of electricity was doubled; cost of fuel came down to $110 per barrel but none of the reductions were forwarded to people.”

Talking about the Metrobus projects, he said, “Did the nation need two metros? Look at the condition of education and healthcare.” He added that the circular debt has gone up to Rs. 600 billion while metros are being built.

“More than 100 million people in Pakistan do not get to feed themselves even two times a day while Nawaz's son lives in a Rs. 700 crore flat in London.”

Elaborating on the state of affairs in Pakistan, the PTI chief said that in Okara and the rest of the country citizens are not treated equally, while injustice prevails everywhere with minorities.

“I have not come here merely for party candidate Ashraf Sona’s campaign, I have come here to deliver a message.”

Khan said, “Listen to me youth of Pakistan, Imran Khan does not accept Defeat.”

He added, “We protested for 126 days in Pakistan and stood for our rights, this is historical in the world.”

The PTI chairman further said that the youth should get ready to reach out to people and tell them that PTI will make a ‘Naya Pakistan’ which will offer equal justice.

Earlier today in Lahore, Imran Khan said that his party's candidate Aleem Khan is his secret weapon who only serves politics.

Addressing the media at Lahore airport just before leaving for the rally in Okara today in connection with the NA-144 bye-polls, Khan said that, “If you go and see what Aleem Khan has accomplished in PP-147, you will realise the work he has done.”

The PTI chief went on to say that Aleem has done a lot of work in his constituency for the poor and deprived population.

He called out to not only all his supporters but the whole of Punjab to reach Lahore on October 9 for a historic rally in Mozang area of the city.

Khan further said that people who hold positions in ministries are campaigning for the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) in NA-122 and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take notice of it, adding that ministers are also distributing jobs and influencing the election process.

He went on to say that, “Ayaz Sadiq wrongly thought that he is the speaker and winning the NA-122 bye-election will be a piece of cake for him, now he will have to visit the constituency in order to be re-elected.”

Also taking a hit at Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, the PTI chairman tweeted:
