COAS calls on Turkish President, PM
ANKARA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as well as Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu separately, reported the ISPR.

According to the ISPR, both leaders appreciated Pakistan’s role for regional peace and Pakistan Army's contributions in defeating terrorism.

DG ISPR, Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa also tweeted that the Turkish leadership emphasised fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations.

The COAS assured the Turkish leadership total support in handling their security challenges, said Bajwa.

Gen. Sharif also called on the Turkish Defence Minister as well as Chief of General Staff separately, and expressed satisfaction on defence cooperation.

Bajwa added that both sides vowed to further enhance defence collaboration.
