Nisar condemns attack on Military Police, vows to expedite Karachi op
ISLAMABAD: Condemning the attack on Military Police in Karachi, Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of two MP personnel and vowed to expedite the ongoing operation against criminals and terrorists in the city.

Speaking at a press conference here, he said a befitting response would be given to terrorists in every nook and corner of the country.

“Karachi operation will be further expedited in coming days,” he said.

Commenting over murder case of Muttahdia Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq, the minister said decision has now been taken to lodge a first information report (FIR) of the case in Pakistan.

Terming the murder of MQM leader in London a high-profile case, he said the Scotland Yard and Pakistani investigation agencies held joint probe of the incident.

“The government will play its role in bringing the culprits to book,” said the interior minister.

Speaking about registration of non-government organisations (NGOs), he said the deadline for the registration of foreign NGOs has been extended for a month.

“Hundreds of NGOS are working in the country...We want to work with these oraganisations but according to Pakistan’s law,” he said.

Commenting over suspending readmission agreement with European countries after thousands of Pakistanis were deported, the minister said action will be taken against any Pakistani national if found involved in terror activities abroad.

He said most deported Pakistanis return home from Saudi Arabia, adding most of the people who visit the Arab country for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims decide to stay there and eventually get caught afterwards.

“Our point of view is that details of deported Pakistanis must be shared with us prior to their repatriation.”
