Memo case: Haqqani did not appear before commission
ISLAMABAD: The judicial commission formed to probe memogate scandal is holding its first open hearing here today (Monday, Geo News reported.

According to sources, the commission under the chairmanship of Balochistan High Court’s (BHC) Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is hearing the memo case at Islamabad High Court (IHC). Strict security measures were also taken for the commission meeting.

Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, Secretary Cabinet Nargis Sethi, Deputy Attorney General and legal advisors of foreign ministry appeared before the commission, however, Husain Haqqani did not come even after being summoned by the commission.

When asked about his absence, Attorney General told the commission that Haqqani was informed through Interior Secretary.

Islamabad High Court’s Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Sindh High Court’ Chief Justice Musheer Alam are part of the judicial commission who were present in the hearing.
