Kazmi’s foreign currency account unfrozen
RAWALPINDI: A court in Rawalpindi has unfrozen former under-arrest minister, Hamid Saeed Kazmi’s foreign currency bank account, Geo News reported.

Kazmi’s counsel, Ahmed Khan Gondal revealed this to media after the hearing here.

A special judge central heard the Hajj corruption case.

This is the first relief granted to the minister since his arrest.

Kazmi was involved in an infamous corruption scandal regarding facilities of Pakistani pilgrims performing the Hajj in Saudi Arabia and was accused of not managing adequate food, resources and living space for them during their stay.

He was consequently sacked from office on the 14th of December 2010.

Khurshid Shah was appointed to minister religious affairs after Kazmi's ouster.
