Mian Iftikhar condemns May 12, 2007 tragedy in Karachi
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that 12 May 2007 reminds us the martyrdom of innocent people of Karachi who were killed on the occasion of Chief Justice Muhammad Iftikhar Chaudhry’s visit to Karachi saying that they lost their precious lives in struggled for freedom of judiciary and democratic system in the country.

In a statement, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that it was due to their sacrifices that we were breathing in a democratic country today. He, however, regretted that families of those martyrs have not yet gotten justice.

He said the 12th May reminds us the valuable sacrifices of our brethren who lost their lives for a great national cause.

He said it was incumbent upon the present judiciary to bring to justice those responsible for the May 12 massacre.

He also appealed the general public to remember the May 12 martyrs till the time their families get justice. He sympathized with family members of the bereaved families and added that their sacrifices
would not go wasted.

Mian Iftikhar also appreciated the ANP Sindh for holding a seminar in memory of the May 12 martyrs in which rich tributes were paid to them. He said that living nations always remember their national
heroes. (PPI)
