PM Gilani directs to formulate laws with respect to missing persons
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani who on Saturday chaired a high level meeting on Balochistan will visit that province from tomorrow Sunday to meet cross section of society.

Interior Ministry will issue instructions within three days to all law enforcement agencies not to issue any "Rahdari" in Balochistan province and presently issued such "Rahdaris" stand ceased to exist forthwith.

Gilani asked personnel of all the law enforcement agencies that they must remain “extraordinary vigilant of inimical forces which are creating disturbances in the province.”

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Balochistan‚ Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani‚ Federal Ministers of Interior‚ Finance‚ Law & Justice‚ Information‚ Postal Services‚ Food Security‚ Science & Technology‚ Advisor on Human Rights‚ Provincial Minister for Finance Muhammad Asim Kurd‚ Parliamentarians from Balochistan and senior officials.

It was decided that no one shall be allowed to drive vehicles with tinted glasses or glazed papers, non Custom paid vehicles shall not be allowed to ply on roads. Law enforcement agencies personnel have been authorized to seize such vehicles immediately, proceed against delinquents in accordance with law and temporary permission already granted to NCP vehicles also stand cancelled with immediate effect.

Prime Minister directed Interior Minister and Chief Minister Balochistan will meet at regular intervals to review law and orders situation in the province especially in Quetta and take necessary action for improving the same.

He also directed Interior Ministry to assess logistic requirements in consultation with Chief Minister to enhance capacity and capability of law enforcement agencies to curb crime rate, Ministry of Law to formulate necessary laws with respect to missing persons and make necessary amendments in Anti-Terrorism Law to counter terrorism in the country.

Chief Minister was advised to take special measures to ensure well-coordinated efforts of all LEAs of both Federation and Province operating in Balochistan to overcome menace of terrorism‚ missing persons‚ kidnapping for ransom and other criminal activities. (PPI)
