PAC displeased over interior secretary's absence
ISLAMABAD: The members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Friday expressed annoyance over the absence of Interior Secretary Khawaja Siddique Akbar and delayed deliberation over his audit objections in protest, Geo News reported.

The PAC meeting, presided over by its Chairman Nadeem Afzal Chan, was held here on second day today.

The additional interior secretary told the committee that Siddique Akbar felt chest pain last night. On this, one of the members Hamid Yar Hiraj got infuriate and said that the secretary is often drunk and that is why he must have been unable to regain his senses in the morning.

The PAC chairman Nadeem Afzal Chan also criticized Siddique Akbar and said the next date of the meeting would be fixed after consulting with him when he would not have chest pain.

He further said that the meeting should be adjourned and they all should go to ask for his well being.
