CAA issues notice to PIA

KARACHI: Civil Aviation Athourity (CAA) has served a notice to PIA to vacate the Airport hotel in three days on non-payment of a billion rupees.

According to CAA sources eviction notice from the Airport Hotel has been issued on the directives of the Public Accounts Committee.

PIA has not paid dues to the CAA since 2001, which have build up to a billion rupees. PIA passengers from India, Srilanka and Bangladesh on transit in Pakistan stay at this hotel.

PIA sources have said that the eviction notice has been received but the hotel cannot be evicted so soon and the government has been approached for the matter.

The whole situation is a matter of concern for the employees of the hotel. CAA served a similar notice to PIA in the past to dispossess them of the Midway Hotel whose employees await the payment of their dues to date.
