Cough syrup case: accused sent on four-day remand

LAHORE: Three accused in the toxic syrup death case were presented before local courts on Tuesday, Geo News reported.

Police presented accused Fida, Abdul Rauf and Rizwan before Judicial Magistrate Wakeel Anjum and sought remand for seven days.

The court handed over them to police on four-day physical remand.

Meanwhile, according to hospital sources, another man, who consumed syrup, lost his life here in the hospital, raising the death toll to 17.

The deceased 25-year-old Bilal was resident of Shahidra and was admitted to Meo Hospital.
