PESHAWAR: CCPO Peshawar, Imtiaz Altaf has revealed that one of the terrorists involved in the attack on the Bacha Khan Airport was from the Russian republic of Dagestan.

According to the CCPO, a letter recovered from the terrorist also mentioned details of attacks on security forces.

On Saturday, ten terrorists launched a suicide bomb and rocket attack on the airport which is attached to PAF base. Five terrorists were killed while others fled the scene.

The police backed by the army conducted an operation in the Pawakai area of Peshawar on Sunday morning in which three terrorists were killed while two others died after detonating their suicide vests.

It was later revealed that these terrorists were involved in the attack on the airport.

An FIR of the attack on the Peshawar airport has been lodged in University Town Police Station.
