New provinces resolutions should not be taken as a joke: Mehmood
MULTAN: Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood has said that the resolutions regarding formation of new provinces should not be considered as a joke.

Talking to media after condoling the death of Senator Malik Salahuddin Dogar’s father here on Wednesday, the governor said that he is a practical man and if he makes a vision then he knows the art of implementing it.

He said that the industries could not be installed in Multan and Bahawalpur until they were given status of separate provinces. The matter of new provinces was taken up after realizing poverty and sense of deprivation that prevailed among people of the region.

The governor expressed wish that he wanted to remain part of Pakistan Muslim League- Functional (PML-F), adding that if he was sacked from the party then he would hold consultations with his family.

He said that the ‘keys of new provinces and treasures’ are in the hands of Lahoris. If new provinces were not formed then the poverty would increase in small provinces, he added.
