Pakistan lodges protest over LoC attack with Indian Deputy High Commissioner
ISLAMABAD: The Deputy High Commissioner of India was summoned to the Foreign Office on Monday and handed over a protest note on the unprovoked Indian attack on a Pakistani checkpost in the Hajipir sector on January 6.

A press release by the Foreign Office stated that the Indian government was strongly urged to take ‘appropriate measures to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future’.

According to the media wing of the military ISPR, Indian troops violated the Line of Control (LoC) and attacked a security checkpost. Two Pakistani soldiers were injured in the attack, one of them succumbing to his injuries later.

The ISPR added that retaliatory fire by Pakistani forces led to Indian soldiers retreating and leaving their weapons behind.
