LAKKI MARWAT: Ten persons were killed when a blast occurred in a house situated in a nearby colony in Lakki Marwat where security forces are currently battling with the militants who stormed a security camp with heavy weapons Saturday, Geo News reported.

Security forces told that ten persons were killed in a blast that occurred at Serai Naurang in a local man’s house.

It is pertinent to mention that at least 30 militants with heavy weapons assaulted the army camp located in Serai Naurang town at 3 AM leaving seven security men dead, including three Frontier Constabulary men in the clashes.

The security forces surrounded the area soon after the incident and launched gun battle, killing 12 militants in exchange of fire, the sources said.

Sounds of explosions and firing were constantly heard in the area, the sources added. The security troops of Bannu are also taking part in the operation.

In earlier times, Serai Naurang was a residential area but after security situation deteriorated in the area, security troops comprising 200 personnel set up their camp in 2011.
