No wanted criminal arrested in Lyari operation
KARACHI: Heavy contingent of Rangers entered parts of Lyari early Friday morning but remained unsuccessful in apprehending any wanted criminal from the area, Geo News reported Friday.

According to sources, Rangers raided Sangolane and Nawalane areas of Lyari after receiving confidential reports regarding the presence of some wanted criminals in the area but failed in arresting any accused.

The security forces faced no retaliation against the action.

It may be mentioned that following the Supreme Court orders to arrest killers of a notorious gangster Arshad Papppu, police had earlier carried out a search operation in parts f Lyari.

Though the police arrested 18 suspects including a close relative of Abdur Rehman Dacoit, most wanted accused Noor Muhammad aka Ladla and Jabbar aka Jheengo were still at large.

The police entered Lyari through Gul Muhammad Lane, Nayaabad and Lee Market and carried out search operation in different areas.

In what seen as a cosmetic move following the apex court orders, police arrested eight people during a raid at Afshani Street. A raid was also conducted at the Dadal House during the operation, which lasted for over three hours.

According to Geo News, the Pakistan Rangers were not present during the police action. The police said they conducted a raid at the Dadal House, arresting Uzair Kamran aka Kami, a close relative of Rehman Baloch.
