OGRA implementation case: SC seeks report over failure to arrest Tauqir Sadiq
ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday took exception to authorities’ failure in bringing Tauqir Sadiq, former OGRA chairman who is allegedly involved in Rs82 billion corruption case, back to Pakistan.

The bench headed by Justice Jawad S. Khuwaja was hearing the implementation of OGRA case. Justice Khuwaja said that everybody knew that the accused was sitting abroad while arrest warrants were being served at his Model Town address in Lahore.

He said that the investigation officer in the case returned to Pakistan after meeting Sadiq in the UAE. The judge sought report, seeking explanation as to why court orders were not implemented.

Moreover, the National Accountability Bureau Prosecutor General K.K Agha told the bench that an accused Shahaz Saleem Bhatti was pardoned by the anti-graft body.

Justice Khuwaja asked as to how an accused was pardoned when he had pleaded guilty.
