Attacks on ANP leaders termed pre-poll rigging
PESHAWAR: Former provincial information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain termed attacks on ANP leaders as pre-poll rigging, saying that the interim government and the Election Commission failed to provide proper security.

Mian Iftkhar Hussain said that killings of ANP leaders and assaults on them are very serious matters, demanding the government and the election commission to provide appropriate security to the party.

Adequate security was not provided to the ANP despite serious threats from the militants, the former minister lamented.

Earlier, ANP leader Mukarram Shah was killed in a roadside bomb explosion in Swat. In another incident, the party’s candidature from PK-21 Syed Masoom Shah got injuries in a blast that took place in Shabqadar.
