Indian spy Sarabjit Singh injured in prison attack
LAHORE: Indian spy Sarabjit Singh who is imprisoned at the Kot Lakhpat jail was attacked by fellow inmates on Friday.

Jail sources told Geo News that the inmates who attacked Sarabjit were on death row.

Singh was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore after receiving initial treatment at the prison hospital.According to hospital sources Sarabjit received head injuries. Singh is said to be in critical condition.

According to the Foreign Office spokesman the India High Commission has been granted counselor access to Singh.

Meanwhile the Assistant Superintendent and Jail Warden have been suspended. The Punjab Home Department has also ordered an inquiry into the attack.

Singh was convicted for his involvement in serial bomb blasts in Lahore and Faisalabad in 1990. He was awarded the death sentence in 1991.
