“Aalim Online”, revolutionized religious programming in the region and proved to be a record breaking program of its kind. There are many question marks which exist in the society related to religion and the basic idea of this program is to remove all question marks in the light of Islam. This program gives courage to people to ask as many questions as they can or which bother them. This helps people to conceptualize Islam in much better way. Prior to that to reach the renowned Aalims were not an easy tasks but AOL has provided the platform where both scholars and masses have been able to interact with each other.

AOL facilitates people to understand Islam and it helps to clear many misconceptions related to religion. The words “Harmony and Tolerance” can best define the message which has been spreading by this program. 

Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain hosts the program. His emergence as one of few most distinguished scholars of his time indicates that he has mature head upon his young shoulders. Through this program he resolved the problems of masses. Perhaps the most astonishing characteristic of his intellect is the combination of idealism and realism which enabled him to find out the root causes of social evils.

In the beginning, two scholars were invited on the show; belonging from two major schools of thought. According to Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain the aim was not to satisfy the people, because the answer of a Sunni scholar will never satisfy that member of Shia community or vice a versa, so the aim was to bring people closer and to reduce their hatred for one another.

Indeed Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain tried to bridge the gap and succeeded to bring both the sects closer and Aalim On line became a symbol of love, peace and harmony.

After six years of consistence transmission of Aalim Online, there is a change in the format of the program. The panel now usually consists of one religious scholar and one psychologist but on special occasions experts from different fields are also invited. This program now focuses not only on religious issues but issues related to common man life is also discussed such as reinstatement of judiciary, operation in Swat and the people who face sufferings after migration, bomb blasts and suicidal attacks, Fatwa related to marriage of young girls and much more.

In order to disseminate knowledge and awareness about religion, AOL has arranged many discussions which are based on particular topics. AOL has the credit to observe Islamic months like Moharam, Rabi-ul-awal, Ramazan, Zil Hajj. It also observes many Islamic days like Shab-e-Mairaj, Shab-e-Baraat.
