Op Rah-e-Nijat: 5 terrorists killed, Ahmed Wam secured
RAWALPINDI: Five terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation Rah-e-Nijat during the last 24 hours.
According to ISPR, security forces conducted search operation at Ahmed Wam and cleared Shahvzai, Khaznikai, Udin Sar, during clearance operation, exchange of fire took place with terrorists, resultantly 5 terrorists were killed.
Security forces conducted search operation around Tiarza and recovered cache of arms and ammunition on Shakai – Kaniguram Axis.
Security forces established check post at Shah Wali Alghad, on Razmak- Makeen Axis.
Route to Laddah Bridge has been cleared from all obstacles; during the process of route scanning 4 IEDs were neutralized. Security forces also recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition.
Security forces completed concentration around Tauda China and searched 25 houses in village at Kam Narakai during the process 3 IED were also diffused.
Terrorists fired few rockets from southern direction of village of Wouchaba which was effectively responded.
During the ongoing operation Rah-e-Rast in Swat – Malakand, security forces conducted search operation at Karakar Banda, Ilam Saand, Ashar Banr, Gari Shamozai and killed 12 terrorists, while apprehended 2 suspects at Shalpin.
Seven terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Charbagh, Roria, Zara Khela.
11,533 Cash Cards have issued to displaced families of Waziristan.
Operation
to end soon in S-Waziristan: PM
MULTAN:
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that no military
operation is currently underway in Balochistan and that
ongoing operation in Southern Waziristan will soon end.
Talking
to reporters in Multan Sunday, Gilani said there was no
threat to the country's nuclear programme, which was
completely safe and secure.
‘Pakistan
will not compromise on its nuclear programme and the
country's nuclear assets are safe under the Nuclear
Command and Control Authority (NCCA).’
To
a question Gilani said no timeframe can be given for
Waziristan Operation, however it will end earlier than
expected and that no military operation is currently
underway in Balochistan.
‘During
the meeting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was
asked to take Islamabad into confidence, if
Washington’s policy on Kabul changes and she reassured
that Pakistan will be taken into confidence, if US
revises its policy on Afghanistan.’
The
prime minister said the country had the will to fight
the war against terrorism, but the international
community's help would be vital in enhancing the
country's ability to win the war.
He
said Pakistan only lacked state-of-the-art equipment to
fight terror and the international community had been
asked to help the country’s build its anti-terror
capacity.
The
prime minister said the government’s timely decision
had resulted in successful operations in Swat and South
Waziristan.
To
a question on evidence regarding the reported Indian
involvement in Balochistan, he said the issue had been
taken up during his meeting with the Indian prime
minister at Sharm El-Sheikh and was made part of the
joint statement issued thereafter.
"The
evidence will be presented at a suitable time," the
prime minister added.
Gilani
said Pakistan wanted good relations with all its
neighbours and desired the resumption of composite
dialogue process with India, adding that dialogue was
the only way forward.
Criticising
US drone attacks in the Tribal Areas, Gilani said they
strikes were counterproductive.
“While
we are trying to separate militants from tribesmen,
drone attacks are doing exactly the opposite,” he
added.
Gilani
said the US should transfer the drone technology to
Pakistan.
To
a question regarding financial losses suffered by the
country in the war on terror, the prime minister said
that international community, including the US, had
promised to help the country in this regard.
Security
forces kill 11 extremists in S-Waziristan, Swat
SWAT/WANA:
Security forces continue operation in Swat and Southern
Waziristan and at least 11 extremists have collectively
been killed in both the areas.
According
to sources, security forces carried out action against
extremists in Gurrai area of Tehsil Barikot of Swat the
previous night killing four extremists.
It
may be mentioned that security forces had to face stiff
resistance during Operation Rah-e-Rast in Gurrai area,
and they succeeded in taking control of Gurrai after 15
days of fierce clashes, sources said.
On
the other hand, security forces killed seven extremists
and wounded nine others destroying two of their
strongholds in Marobi area of Makeen and Ahmed Wam Area
of Sararogha in Southern Waziristan.
Meanwhile,
three dead bodies of extremists have also been found in
Janadhar Latka area.
