Breakthrough expected in next 24 hours over PIA standoff

KARACHI: The standoff between the PIA Joint Action Committee and the government may witness a breakthrough in the next 48-hours.

Sources claim that both parties, the joint action committee (JAC) and the government have been holding secret discussions and have agreed that first the strike will be called off and then flight operations will resume after which discussions will be held.

Sources also claim that strike may be called off in the next 24-hours.

Speaking to media representatives, Chairman of PIA's JAC Sohail Baloch confirmed the Geo News report saying contacts have been established with ‘responsible people’, adding that few important decisions have been made.

He urged the media persons to be patient for a scheduled press conference, in which he added that an important announcement would be made.
