Imran to advise Pak team ahead of India WT20 clash

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday departed for India to watch a much-anticipated Pakistan-India World Cup T20 match on March 19 in Kolkata.

Khan, who led the Pakistan team to a memorable 1992 World Cup victory, said: “I will meet the players ahead of the match and will try to advise them in light of my experience.”

Khan said the Pakistan-India T20 fixture was very a important match, adding that he would try to mentally prepare the Pakistani team for the key game.

The PTI chairman said T20 skipper Shahid Khan Afridi had sought guidance from him before the India match.

Speaking to reporters at Bani Gala before his departure, Khan said that Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed was supposed to fly with him but had left earlier for India.
