KP bans smoking, naswaar in educational institutes

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has banned the use of cigarettes and naswaar in all colleges and universities in the provinces.

According to a press release, the ban applies to teachers and staff of universities too.

All relevant authorities, vice chancellors of universities and director higher education have been informed of the education department’s decision.

The press release further said that weekly sessions will be conducted in educational institutes to create awareness about the dangerous effects of drugs.

Various reports have emerged about students being supplied drugs in educational institutes in major cities of the country. Authorities have busted various gangs in Karachi and Islamabad supplying drugs to students in schools and universities.
