Two new mothers in Gujranwala die after being administered wrong injection

GUJRANWALA: Police have filed a case after two pregnant women died in a private clinic after wrong injections were administered to them.

Families of the women, who were not related, said that the two were in labour and were brought in for delivering their babies.

One of the woman gave birth to a boy while the other had a girl.

After the delivery, the two women were reportedly given an injection each which led their condition to deteriorate. The women were then transferred to the DHQ hospital where they lost their lives.

Their deaths prompted strong protest and vandalism by the families, while the lady doctor and staff fled after locking up the clinic.

A case has been registered in the Gujranwala Cantt Police Station.
