Sindh Police increases marriage grant for unmarried personnel

KARACHI: The Sindh Police has increased the marriage grant from Rs10,000 to Rs50,000 for unmarried personnel of the force. The grant was approved by the Welfare Board and will be available to police personnel getting married for the first time.

The grant can also be claimed by two children of serving and martyred police personnel.

Additional AIG of the Welfare Board, Dr Rizwan Ahmed Khan said 20,000 out of the 115,000 personnel in the police force are single.

In order to claim the grant, personnel need to provide their service details, Family Registration Certificate from NADRA and the wedding invitation card.

The board has waived the condition of submission of original nikah-nama at the time of claiming the grant. However, after the grant has been received, within one month the applicant should provide the original nikah-nama along with a copy duly attested by the concerned DDO.
