MNS adamant to stop 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' release

MUMBAI: In its fresh threat, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has threatened to obstruct the release of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM), despite the director's acceding of demands by the Hindu extremist party.

Only a day ago, Karan Johar was assured by the Mumbai Police of ADHM's smooth release on October 28, but Raj Thackeray-led MNS on Wednesday issued a fresh threat to cinemas against the screening of the film.

A spokesperson for the MNS said they will beat anyone trying to stop them from protest against the flick or halting its screening, according to Indian media outlets. The hard-right Hindu party this time objected to Karan Johar for not taking names of the Pakistani actors.

On Tuesday, the director succumbed to the pressure from extremist elements as he announced to not work with artists from 'neighbouring country' in future.

He said that when 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' was being shot the climate and circumstances were very different.

"For me, my country comes first," he said.
