LHC suspends four university vice chancellors

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday suspended four university vice chancellors from their positions.

Justice Shahid Karim heard the case over a petition filed by Azhar Siddiq who had challenged employment of the VC on contractual basis.

Vice Chancellors of University of Punjab, Lahore College for Women University, Sargodha University and Nawaz Sharif Engineering University have been suspended.

The court ordered that the senior most professor at the universities serve duties of acting vice chancellor while the HEC should advertise the position.
