SHARJAH: Islamabad United paceman Mohammad Sami has credited bowling coach and mentor Wasim Akram for his disciplined and lethal bowling in the Pakistan Super League.

Speaking exclusively to Geo.TV following his team’s victory against Quetta Gladiators on Wednesday, Sami said he owes his success to the ‘Swing ka Sultan’.

“Wasim bhai has always inspired and motivated me to bowl to the best of my ability. He is always guiding me and helping me with tips,” the 'Karachi Express' said.

Sami, who has bagged 5 wickets in the three matches played by United so far, added that Wasim Akram especially emphasises on two things when training/mentoring the players.

“The first thing he tells us is not to take too much pressure. He tells us to go out there and enjoy our cricket. Along with that, he also gives us technical tips on bowling fast and accurate,” Sami said.
