PM urges nation to unite for extermination of terrorism

NAWABSHAH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during his visit to Nawabshah and Sehwan on Friday, called for the nation to unite for extermination of terrorism.

The prime minister chaired a high-level meeting after the visiting those injured in the suicide bombing at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. At least 88 people were killed in the attack on Thursday. 

During the meeting, the prime minister urged for the need to unite against terrorist elements.

“We are fighting internal and external enemies. We are fighting a war for our identity,” the Prime Minister said.

“Enemy forces have always tried to obstruct our journey toward peace and prosperity,” he added.

Chief Secretary Sindh briefed the Prime Minister during the meeting.

PM, COAS visit injured of Sehwan blast

The Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa arrived in Nawabshah on Friday afternoon where they visited the injured of the deadly Sehwan blast at People’s Medical Hospital.

They were accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair.

The Prime Minister and Gen Qamar Bajwa expressed solidarity with the injured and handed flowers to the hospitalised victims.

Expressing his condolences, the Prime Minister said on the occasion that “terrorists are playing with the lives of the innocent.”
