Punjab forensic lab laments CTD's 'delay' in items sought from Sahiwal encounter

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: The Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) has returned to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) the hand grenades and suicide jackets from the Sahiwal encounter, sources informed Geo News on Tuesday.

According to sources at the PFSA, the agency has asked the CTD to resend the items, which includehand grenades and suicide jackets, after rendering them safe.

Neither the rifles that were used in the gunfire Sahiwal encounter were sent,sources said, nor items that have been sought to date.

According to the sources, the director-general of the PFSA had earlier reached out to the Punjab Home Department to speed up the process of sending them the rifles and, in response, was assured that the items,including thepistols, would be sent in two days.

Sources confirmed that the CTD had sent thehand grenade and suicide jackets to the agency for forensic analysis.
