Actor Imran Abbas has come under heavy criticism after he posted a picture posing with a lion.

In the photo posted on Instagram, Abbas can be seen sitting on a terrace of a residential house. The post did not go down well with some people, who quickly took to social media to criticise the actor for keeping a wild animal in confine.

The actor in an attempt to defend himself posted the photo with the caption, “Loved you Simba!!!!! This lion was rescued and saved when he was 3 months old cub. He is not caged or malnutrition. He is kept in a natural habitat at a farmhouse and was taken to this house only for a day.”

“He loves human beings and cannot be sent back to jungle since he feels more comfortable with the owner and can't survive without him,” he added.

He then posted another video clarifying and said, “Thanks to all you for the concern but Simba is well taken care of and a super pampered lion who is well bred and not on drugs.”
