92 shopkeepers/vendors fined for fleecing
HYDERABAD: As many as 92 shopkeepers/vendors have been punished with total fine of Rs.32,400/- by the Assistant Commissioners, Mukhtiarkars and Assistant Mukhtiarkars on account of charging high prices from their clients at different markets in Hyderabad District on last day, said a press release issued Saturday.

The Revenue Officers having judicial powers to take action against profiteers made surprise visits at their concerned areas and took strict action against profiteers to protect the consumers from high prices and to ensure the maintenance of Ramzan Ordinance in letter and spirit.

As per details, Mukhtiarkar City Hyderabad fined 7 persons and recovered Rs.7300/-, Assistant Commissioner Latifabad fined 3 persons and recovered Rs.300/-, Mukhtiarkar Latifabad fined 26 persons and recovered Rs.4100/-, Assistant Commissioner Qasimabad fined 6 persons and recovered Rs.1600/-, Mukhtiarkar Qasimabad fined 4 persons and recovered Rs.1300/-, Assistant Commissioner Taluka Hyderabad fined 8 persons and recovered Rs.2000/-, Mukhtiarkar Taluka Hyderabad fined 5 persons and recovered Rs.1000/-, Mukhtiarkar Tando Allahyar fined 2 persons and recovered Rs.400/-, Assistant Commissioner Tando Mohammad Khan fined 13 persons and recovered Rs.7000/-, Mukhtiarkar Tando Mohammad Khan fined 6 persons and recovered Rs.1500/-, Mukhtiarkar Tando Ghulam Haider fined 3 persons and recovered Rs.600/-, Assistant Commissioner Hala fined 2 persons and recovered Rs.1000/- Mukhtiarkar Hala fined 3 persons and recovered Rs.800/-, Assistant Commissioner Saeedabad fined 4 persons and recovered Rs.3500/-.

Besides, 12 other shopkeepers were warned by different magistrates to refrain from fleecing the customers.
