887 Iftar/Sehar Dastar Khawans set up

FAISALABAD: As many as 887 Iftar/Sehar Dastar Khawans (free food outlets) have been set up in the district with the financial cooperation of local traders, industrialists and philanthropists.

Divisional Commissioner Tahir Husain also inaugurated an Iftar Dastar Khwan at Gulam Muhammad Abad here on Monday while MNA Hajji Muhammad Akram Ansari, MPA Mrs. Anjum Safdar and Ex-MPA Sheikh Ejaz Ahmad were also present.

Appreciating the generosity of philanthropists for setting up Ramzan Dastar Khawans, the commissioner said sentiments of love, fraternity and unity were being promoted with such a noble deed of collective participations in Iftar ceremonies.

Expressing his views, MNA Hajji Akram Ansari and other parliamentarians said the Punjab Government was following a comprehensive welfare agenda for the betterment and development of the down trodden.

They said the promotion of trend of holding free food outlets by the well-to-do people was also a unique welfare step of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The Iftar dinner was also attended by former Town Nazim Zulfiqar Ahmad Sheikh, Rana Shehzad, Hajji Sheikh Khalid Lada, Mian Arshad Anjum, Imran Sher Ali, Mian Tahir Jameel and other notables.
