Kamran Khan dismisses Imran’s poll rigging charges
KARACHI: Geo News senior anchorperson Kamran Khan has discarded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s accusations of complicity in the alleged rigging of May 11 general elections by Geo News, Jang Group and himself (Kamran Khan).

Kamran Khan advised Imran Khan to consider before leveling such allegations whether or not they are based on evidence.

He said Imran Khan and his party must understand that giving projections over election results is a norm in the media.

“I neither made projections prior to the elections nor before polling. I hinted at Pakistan Muslim League-N’s win six hours after the voting came to a close and announcement of more than half of the (unofficial) election results,” he added.

He said Geo News and Jang Group’s Election Cell received authentic results from its correspondents from across Pakistan before announcing the same. “Geo News did not cook the results itself,” he added.

Kamran Khan said his organization had invited Imran Khan many a times to come over and prove his allegations and once again Geo News is ready to present before him and inspect its entire election transmission of election.

He said he had given Imran Khan a status of a captain in the present political setup but it seems perhaps he is not fully prepared for such a key role.
