Only ‘back benches of PPP’ opposing Musharraf’s exodus: Rashid

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) issued contradictory statements over Pervez Musharraf’s travel abroad.

Speaking exclusively to Geo News, Pervaiz Rashid said Musharraf kept frequenting in and out of Pakistan in the government of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s father.

He said even the opposition leader Khursheed Shah has raised no objection to Musharraf’s trip abroad and the hue and cry is only being raised from the ‘back benches of the PPP’.

Pervaiz Rashid said Musharraf is also nominated in the murder case of Bilawal’s mother but this did not prompt his father to take action against him.

He said the PML-N government honoured the court’s decision.

“In spite of the fact that Musharraf subjected Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) to cruelties, we don’t want to pursue politics of vengeance,” he added.
