LAHORE: A spokesman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Wednesday that the team’s fielding coach Grant Luden had not resigned and will continue on his post.
PCB Media Manager Agha Akbar spoke with Geo News and said reports of Luden having reservations with some players of the team were not correct. Mr. Akbar said Luden had conveyed to the PCB that he intended to resign at the end of May for personal reasons but would now continue beyond this period.
The PCB media manager categorically denied that Luden had threatened to resign over the reported misbehaviour of three senior players. “Grant Luden has not had an altercation with any player,” Akbar said.
However, there are reports that Luden had resigned last week over differences with the team’s management over the training schedule of players.
Luden had joined the Pakistan team after quitting as Bangladesh’s trainer in May 2014 to sign a two-year contract with the PCB.
