Will defeat terrorists’ ideology at all cost: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said the government, armed forces, national security agencies and police are, and would continue to be, united in tackling the menace of terrorism.

Speaking on the floor of National Assembly, he said that terrorism would now be tackled with greater determination, adding that unity was necessary to face the enemy.

“If we stay united, it would be a great response to our enemies”, he added.

He said that it was the responsibility of national security agencies to protect Pakistan from external and internal threat and they are carrying out their duties great efficiency.

“I want to tell the honourable people of Pakistan that our intelligence agencies are busy in foiling the plans of the enemies”, he said.

He said that Pakistan today was safer as compared to Pakistan a few years ago.

PM Nawaz said that every terrorist act strengthens their resolve.

“Quetta terrorist attack has saddened the entire nation. This is the same mindset that does not want peace in Pakistan. This is the same mindset which martyred Benazir Bhutto. This is the same mindset which targeted APS”, he said.

Prime Minister said that the enemies could not absorb the possibility of progress in Pakistan, particularly of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb would be completed at all cost

Nawaz Sharif said that it is their mission is to make Pakistan a secure homeland and also vowed to eliminate terrorism completely from the country.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has raised voice against the Indian atrocities against innocent people in the occupied Kashmir at the international fora and through an awareness campaign.

The Prime Minister’s speech comes in the wake of yesterday’s deadly Quetta suicide bombing which claimed lives of more than 70 people.

The explosion at Quetta’s Civil Hospital took place when Balochistan Bar Association President Bilal Kasi's body was being brought to the emergency department.

He was gunned down at Quetta’s Mano Jan road earlier. Former Balochistan Bar President Baz Muhammad Kakar who accompanied Kasi was injured in the attack.

He later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.
