Pakistan to host first ever day-night Test against WI in Oct

LONDON: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced to host its first ever day-night Test match while confirming the schedule of the home series against West Indies, starting in late September.

"PCB will host its first ever day-night Test match from October 13-17 in a match to be played with the pink ball under lights at the Dubai Cricket Stadium," said a spokesman of PCB.

This will be Pakistan's first ever day-night Test as well. The team is also scheduled to play a day-night Test against Australia later this year.

PCB had last week also announced to hold 11 day-night first-class games in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy to allow players getting adjust with the format.

The day-night Test between Pakistan and West Indies will be the first of three Tests scheduled between the two teams.

The 2nd Test will be played from October 21 in Abu Dhabi and the third Test will be played in Sharjah from October 30.

Green shirts will also play three ODIs and three T20Is against West Indies in the first phase of the series which starts on September 23.

The series will begin with three T20 games to be played on September 23, 24 and 27.

 First two T20s will be played at Dubai while the last will be played at Abu Dhabi.

Sharjah will host first two of three ODIs scheduled to be played between Pakistan and West Indies on September 30 and October 2 while the third ODI will be played on October 5 in Abu Dhabi.
