NOTTINGHAM: England has taken a decisive lead of 3-0 against Pakistan to ensure the series win in five match series with a huge win against Pakistan by 169 runs in Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Tuesday.

Pakistan got an early breakthrough after England opted to bat when Hassan Ali sent Jason Roy back to pavilion cheaply with only 33 runs on board, but then Alex Hales and J Root launched the attack on Pakistani bowlers making green-shirt look helpless on the field.

The duo added 248 runs for the second wicket partnership which provided England a launchpad to reach a record 444/3 in 50 overs.

Hales smashed four sixes and twenty two boundaries to score 171 off 122 balls becoming England's top scorer in an ODI innings.

He survived twice while reaching this milestone, at 71 he was caught at mid wicket but the umpires found Wahab Riaz delivering the no-ball providing Hales the first relief.

He was then dropped by Azhar Ali when he was batting at 114.

Joe Root scored 85 runs, but wickets of Hales and Roots were not enough to stop England's fireworks.

Jose Buttler and Eoin Morgan added 135 runs off last ten overs to ensure England posting the highest ever ODI total, 444/3 in 50 overs.

Buttler score 90 off 57 deliveries, file noted smashed a quick 57 off 27 deliveries.

Wahab Riaz conceded 110 runs in wicket-less 10 overs which is second most expensive bowling figures in history of ODI cricket.

Chasing a mammoth target of 445 runs, Pakistan looked under tremendous pressure from the start and it kept losing at regular intervals.

None of Pakistani batsman other than Sharjeel Khan looked confident while facing English bowlers and the entire team was bowled out for 275 in 42.4 overs.

Sharjeel top scored for Pakistan with 58 off 30 deliveries. Sarfaraz Ahmed could add 38 while Mohammad Nawaz could score mere 34 runs.

Mohammad Aamir showcased some batting skilled towards the end to score 58 off 28 runs, but it was too late to rescue Pakistan. Aamir, however, entered the record books by scoring the highest score by a number 11 batsman in ODIs.

With England taking a decisive lead of 3-0 in the five match series, Pakistan will try to save its pride when it faces off the same opponent in Leeds on Thursday.
