PSX 100-index falls 353 points ahead of monetary policy decision

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange 100-index fell 353 points to close below the 39,800 mark on Friday, with investors booking profits ahead of the State Bank's monetary policy decision.

The sentiment was negative at the start of trading and held it course to the end. Investors traded 500 million shares today.

Out of 425 scripts investors traded today, 137 companies’ prices surge and 275 company’s shares prices declined.

Market experts say investors were cautious ahead of monetary policy decision. Global Securities in its day end report mentioned ECC decision to reduce fertilizer prices drag fertilizer sector down.
