Over 2 million children to be vaccinated

KARACHI: Over 2.2 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated during National Immunisation Days, said Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed while speaking to media.

More than 8,000 polio volunteers are being deployed for do door to door campaign with 5,000 security personnel, Ahmed added

Rotary Polio Ambassador and renowned pop singer Salman Ahmed said that polio in Pakistan is nearing its end.

“Meanwhile, environmental samples of polio virus in sewerage system have became negative from last one year in Karachi and this is remarkable,” Ahmed said.  

So far four polio cases have been reported in Sindh province this year.
