US biggest source of FDI in Pakistan: Consul General Grace Shelton

KARACHI: US Consul General in Karachi Grace Shelton visited the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Thursday, where she rang the opening bell to mark the start of the day’s activities.

Talking to the media on the occasion, Consul General Grace Shelton said the US is committed to developing the private sector in Pakistan and the two countries have always enjoyed strong bilateral trade relations. She added that these relations will continue to strengthen in the future as well.

The Consul General said that Pakistan is currently the focus of investors worldwide. She said that the US is the largest buyer of Pakistan’s exports and the US is also the biggest source of foreign direct investment in the country.

She said that the total bilateral trade volume in 2015 stood at 5 billion dollars.
