There is a party whose mandate is to dance on containers, says PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was critical of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The prime minister spoke at a party convention after being elected PML-N president unopposed. During his address, Prime Minister Sharif without naming Imran Khan said “people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are searching for those who promised them Naya Pakistan, but they are only found on containers.”

The prime minister added that his party was making streets while others were aimlessly wandering them.  “There is one party which has been given the opportunity by Allah to work for the prosperity of Pakistan, and then there is the party who has been given the mandate to dance on containers,” the prime minister said as he compared by the PML-N to the PTI.

"PML-N will win the next elections in KP," Prime Minister Sharif said.  

The prime minister went to say that his party had never levelled any fake allegations on opponents. “I am not even willing to talk on this topic. We will talk about prosperity and how to take Pakistan out of crises.”   

Load shedding will end by 2018

The prime minister said power shortage and load shedding in the country would end by 2018. He said dozens of power plants had been set up in Pakistan as he thanked China for its support in this field.

The prime minister added that electricity rates would decrease by Rs 7.8 per unit by 2018. According to the prime minister, 4000 MW electricity will be added by Thar power plant while 1,000 MW would be added in the system by 2018.

Operation against terrorism

The prime minister said he was thankful to the Army and police for the operation against terrorists. He added that in 2013 Pakistan was a victim of terrorism and that had drastically changed now.

Pakistan is an emerging country

According to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan was among the five emerging countries in terms of its stock market performance.

The prime minister also said that foreign reserves had risen from $3 billion to $24 billion within last three years.

Speaking on the construction of highways, Prime Minister Sharif said a highway had been built from Khunjerab to Gwadar. On the Karachi motorway, the prime minister said this would be completed in 1-2 years.
