Govt, PPP discuss PTI Islamabad sit-in

ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and opposition leader Khursheed Shah discussed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Islamabad sit-in, scheduled to take place on November 2.

According to sources, Rafique and Shah spoke on the telephone and the Railways Minister invited the opposition leader to discuss a consensus strategy regarding the sit-in.

Sources further informed Geo News that a meeting will be held on Monday.

TheĀ PPP leader, however, denied any such telephone conversation took place.

Earlier on Saturday, Shah spoke to reporters at his Sukkur residence. The PPP leader said protesting was a democratic right, however, laying siege and blocking the capital is an unconstitutional move.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has announced that his party will reach Islamabad on November 2 and hold a sit-in until Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif does not present himself for accountability over the Panama Papers.
