KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar on Sunday announced the launch of mass contact campaign.

In a press conference at Karachi, the MQM Pakistan chief said that in a day or two the party’s 100-day mass contact campaign will commence.

“MQM Pakistan is one party and that is us” Sattar said, adding that injustice being done with the party should end.

He said that MQM Pakistan would continue its legal and constitutional struggle, adding that the party is registered on his name at the Election Commission of Pakistan.

“Some people associating themselves with Aug 22 are trying to push MQM into a ditch,” he said.

Following the August 22 violence, the Pakistan faction of the party is trying to come out clean.

On Saturday,  MQM Pakistan leadership expelled 11 members from the party fold, advising workers to not keep any contact with them.

Earlier on Saturday, Rangers took MQM-London interim Rabita Committee members, Professor Hasan Zafar Arif, Kunwar Khalid Younus and Amjadullah Khan, into custody from outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC).
