Man dies after falling from Civic Center building in Karachi

KARACHI: A retired government servant died after he fell from the Civic Centre building on Monday morning under mysterious circumstances, police said.

Muhammad Iqbal, a retired employee of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), fell from 6th floor of the Civic Center building. He succumbed to his wounds on way to hospital.

However, it has yet to be decided whether Iqbal committed suicide or someone pushed him.

The daughter of the deceased said he had been frequenting the Civic Center for past three years, to avail the additional amount of pension approved by the government. "Yet, our financial circumstances were not that bad that my father would commit suicide," she said.
