Pakistan to attend Heart of Asia moot in India, says Sartaj

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will attend the Heart of Asia conference in India, a senior government official confirmed Monday, in what can be described as a measured diplomatic move to counter Indian efforts to isolate it internationally.

Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said on Monday that Pakistan will participate in the regional moot, aimed at promoting peace and co-operation between Afghanistan and its neighbours. The conference is scheduled to take place in the first week of December in Amritsar, India.

"Pakistan will continue to attend all international forums," he said.

Pakistan's announcement to attend the moot comes at a time when the neighbouring arch-rival is busy in efforts to isolate it on international level, while at the same time it has engaged Pakistan on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.

The adviser demanded India to allow United Nations (UN) observer group to visit its side of the LoC, like Pakistan did. "India has continuously been violating UN resolutions on Kashmir," he maintained, adding that a very effective campaign on the Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) commenced from July 8.

Moreover, Aziz said that dossiers on Kulbhushan Yadav, a serving Indian navy officer arrested from Balochistan while spying for RAW, were in final phase of preparation.

Pakistan is likely to hand these dossiers to the UN and other world states to apprise them of India’s sponsoring of terrorism within on Pakistani soil.
